The PAL Program: Cops and Kids, A need to heal the community after the Ferguson riots in 2015.

The PAL Program: Cops and Kids is a program started following the Ferguson riots in 2015. It was formed out of a need to heal the community. For the last 8 years cops have been meeting kids where they are at in schools and summer camps. They develop bonds that last a lifetime. It’s an efforts for kids and adults to view cops differently as someone they can trust. Sometimes these bonds become so strong they become family. The program was recently cut to only a few officers but the need is still there and the difference these officers make in the kids lives is measurable.
