St. Louis is home to one of America’s best community bands, founded initially to give members of the local LGBTQ+ community a place to get together to play music in a safe and non-judgemental space. More than 20 years after its founding, today one-third of “Band Together’s” members are straight allies. Its robust concert season, which includes music from all genres, draws large and enthusiastic crowds representing a large cross section of the St. Louis community.
