New Virtual Geology Lab Transforms Education Using HoloLens

Washington University’s Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences is transforming education with the opening of the Virtual Geology Lab. Associate Professor Philip Skemer is building his own 3D holographic models that can be viewed with Microsoft HoloLens. Skemer says HoloLens gives students and scientists the ability to conduct research through a virtual field research experience. HoloLens allows them to interact with exquisite minerals and geological wonders in a whole new way.
