East Asian Monochrome Art at the Saint Louis Art Museum

“The Monochrome Mode in East Asian Art” at the Saint Louis Art Museum focuses on the essentials of literati art from China, Korea and Japan. “Literati painting” refers to a type of art often associated with the Southern School of Chinese painting. Its less formal tradition originates with scholars who expressed feelings and impressions through poetry, calligraphy, and painting. The exhibition also includes two vases from around the 11th and 12th centuries. It will be available to view through February 14, 2021. For more information, go to slam.org.
